4 out of 5 stars What is Amazon Thinking?   July 21, 2010

This is a comment on the product description from Amazon. Anne Parillaud is the star of the movie. Why is she not listed as one of the actors in the product description or just below the title?

4 out of 5 stars The original prevail   May 12, 2010

Usually, the original opus is the best and that's the case here. The American version, Point of no return is not bad at all and a little more explosive, but there's missing the essence. For an example, in Point of no return, the cleaner ( with Harvey Keitel ) looks like a robot when he kills a fellow, but Jean Reno, even he is a though one, he's still a little human and that makes the difference when Nikita is asking him to leave the embassy. Enjoy with the original!

5 out of 5 stars Has a nostalgic feel of the '80s...   April 7, 2010

Would not interest the young folks with it amazing Lack of vomit inducing paint can mixer camera work or amazing lack of .5 sec camera cuts in the action scenes. But for those who do enjoy a taunt melodrama with guns and agreeable amounts of angst instead of the now typical whiny junk oozing out now, you should really and truly enjoy this movie.

5 out of 5 stars The best Nikkita to date.   March 9, 2010

I am in love with blu-ray movies that have been given great transfers to really show off what the movie can do. This is the prettiest this movie has ever looked. More details come to life. The lush scenes pop, the sound is magnificent, just awesome. I had always thought of this as an action movie, but after watching it several times on blu, I love it just as much for its beautiful foreign film feel. BUY IT.

5 out of 5 stars This a movie well worth the effort of reading subtitles   September 15, 2009

This is an incredibly well done movie, much more intense than the US remake, "Point of no Return".
The real star here is Jean Reno, but his interaction with Anne Parrilaud and the other players in this movie brings them up to a higher level. I am fluent in Fench but my wife is not, so we have the subtitles turned on when we watch it. The english subtitles, although not always strictly accurate, are more accurate than the english dubbing, and it is well worth reading the subtitles and leaving the french sound track on. We have probably watched this movie 4 times in the past 5 years, and it is still fresh each time.
